Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed readiness to serve as running mate to Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme, where he spoke about ongoing political alignments within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the former governor, he would gladly work with Obi if the party decides to field the former Labour Party presidential candidate as its flag bearer for the 2027 election.
Kwankwaso stated that both leaders have already reached an understanding on the need to jointly confront insecurity across the country, stressing that restoring peace and stability remains a top priority.
“We have agreed to tackle the issue of insecurity head-on to ensure there is peace and stability in this country,” he said.
