Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has come under criticism from his younger brother, Isaac Fayose, over comments linking state governments to worsening insecurity and alleged political attempts to undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The disagreement emerged after Ayo Fayose, speaking in a viral video, argued that governors should not be absolved of responsibility for insecurity within their states.
According to him, state governments receive security votes and possess structures that should contribute to maintaining law and order.
The former governor maintained that governors remain key figures in the security architecture of their states, dismissing claims that they are not chief security officers.
Drawing from his experience in office, he suggested that some security incidents could be politically motivated and alleged that certain developments in a state may have been used to cast the Federal Government in a negative light.
