FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has reacted to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s return to his political camp, declaring that “there is no sin in politics” and insisting that the governor did nothing wrong by retracing his steps.
Wike made the statement on Tuesday while speaking with journalists after inspecting ongoing road projects in the Federal Capital Territory, days after Fubara publicly declared support for the minister’s political coalition and endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The former Rivers State governor dismissed claims that he had forgiven Fubara following their prolonged political disagreement, stressing that politics should not be viewed through the lens of sin or wrongdoing.
Wike said he had always predicted that Fubara would eventually return to the political family that produced him, adding that the governor’s decision would strengthen their efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
“There is no sin in politics. Fubara has done nothing wrong. Politics is not a sin. What is important is for someone to realise when he has made a mistake and decide to take the right path.
