Osun Election: NYSC Coordinator Commends Corps Members for Professionalism, Discipline

The Osun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, has commended corps members deployed as ad-hoc election personnel for demonstrating professionalism, discipline and commitment throughout the poll held across the state on Saturday.

Kubiangha also commended stakeholders for their roles in ensuring the peaceful conduct of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The NYSC coordinator spoke in a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo.

The Osun NYSC boss disclosed that while monitoring the exercise, he visited polling units in Alajue 1 and Alajue 2, Akoda/Oloki and Isibo/Buhari-Isola wards, among other locations, to assess the safety and welfare of corps members.

“The personnel largely complied with operational guidelines, safety advisories and instructions issued during the sensitisation visits to local government areas before the election.

“The corps members followed directives from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters and the Southwest Area Office 1 while carrying out their election duties,” he stated.

He also who disclosed that in Osogbo, the voting ended at some polling units while the process was still ongoing at others, noting that the deployed corps members remained safe during the exercise.

“The corps members discharged their responsibilities without fear, intimidation or undue interference, allowing them to perform their assigned duties effectively,” Kubiangha added.

He commended the officers manning the situation room, as well as the Zonal Inspectors and Local Government Inspectors, for the effective coordination and monitoring of corps members throughout the electoral process.

The NYSC coordinator also praised security agencies for protecting corps members and appreciated the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for responding promptly to challenges reported from the field.

He said cooperation among election stakeholders, particularly through the Inter-Consultative Committee on Election Security, ICCES, contributed to the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election.

Kubiangha added that the NYSC remained committed to the safety and welfare of corps members and their continued adherence to professionalism and national service.
