The Ogun State Government has expressed grief over the death of veteran actor and filmmaker, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The state government described the death of the Ilaro-born actor as a monumental loss to Ogun State, Nigeria’s creative industry and the country at large.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the government said Hassan was not only an accomplished actor but also a cultural ambassador who contributed significantly to the promotion of Yoruba heritage.
According to the statement, Hassan distinguished himself throughout his career through exceptional artistry, discipline, humility, candour and professionalism, earning the admiration of colleagues, fans and generations of Nigerians.
